B.RC Davis Mountains Runcation Weekend

Nine members of the Bexar Run Crew spent the weekend exploring the mountains of west Texas-- running miles across loose volcanic rock, up and down steep switchbacks, all with a backdrop of a very green Davis Mountain landscape.

We decided to do this trip west for a couple of reasons:

- A lot of us are racing Sky Island Trail Race September 18 that takes place along these mountain trails so we thought it'd be fun to train and become more intimate with these exciting trails.

- We have a Grand Canyon Rim2Rim2Rim run in November planned that has lots of climbing involved, so this was to be used as a test to see how everyone's fitness is looking for both the 50 mile journey and 10,000 feet of climbing.

Day 1: 20 miles with 2,600 feet climbing

Day 2: 8 miles with 1,300 feet climbing
