Hey there, fellow film buffs and TMNT fans! I recently scored an original 16mm print of the TMNT movie from another collector friend in Canada. This classic flick has a special place in my heart, and I can't wait to watch it with you all.
I've always loved the original TMNT – I mean, come on, ninjas, turtles, and pizza? What's not to like? The arcade game was a blast also, and I've always been fascinated by movies and TV shows with animatronics and stop motion.
The thing about 16mm film is that it gives you this amazing connection to the history of cinema. As a film lover, I'm all about the charm of 16mm projection. One reason 16mm looks different from digital is the grain structure, which gives the image a unique texture that can't be replicated in digital formats. The organic grain structure in film can make the image feel more alive and add depth, while digital projection tends to appear flat and less dynamic.
Having this film in my collection is really special because I know it'll lead to some amazing nights with friends during our screenings. It's a chance to create new memories and friendships.
I'm planning to host Bexar Movie Club screening of TMNT whether they've seen it once or a hundred times with lots of pizza, gaming and of course, showcasing the print.
Sharing this treasure with others and the magic of 16mm projection is a reminder of how cinema can bring us all together and create memories... See you soon
